Great Philly cheesesteaks and a house root beer, what more can you ask for? This location is in Huntington Beach, but there are two others — a second location in Huntington Beach and one in Seal Beach.
We like to drink private label root beers, and this one was great!
We also had a side of fried mozzarella sticks — there were a lot of appetizer options.
For those who love cheesesteaks, there are so many variations — the one I got was “The Works”, which had mushrooms, hot peppers, green peppers and cheese. Laura had the “Original”, which comes with green peppers and onions. Unlike some other philly places, these sandwiches had actual steak and plenty of cheese and veggies.
The price is right for the amount of food you get (huge portions — and these were just the half-sizes!) and the diner is pretty clean and roomy. There are cold sandwiches on the menu if you don’t like cheesesteak.
If you like Philadelphia sports, the walls are appropriately full of Phillies and Eagles memorabilia. When we are back in the area, we will be back for a sandwich at John’s Philly Grille!
